Abstract

The field study was conducted at Regional Rice Research Station (RRRS), Navsari Agricultural University, Vyara (Dist-Tapi) during kharif, rabi and summer season of 2008–09. In this experiment, total nine rice based horticulture cropping sequences were tried viz., rice-cauliflower-okra, rice-cauliflower-cowpea rice-cabbage-brinjal, rice-bean-okra,, ricewatermelon-brinjal, rice-brinjal-green manure, rice-okragreen manure, rice-cucumber-okra and rice-okra-brinjal. Owing to the results, it is revealed that the rice-okra-brinjal was found to be superior in all the yield parameters which is reflected in system productivity, production efficiency and profitability. Rice-okra-brinjal sequence was also followed by other sequences viz., rice-cauliflower-brinjal, rice-cabbage-brinjal and rice-watermelon-brinjal. The highest net return (Rs. 416299) with higher benefit cost ratio (3.59) was also obtained in above same sequence.
