Abstract

Succession and incidence of insect pests of soybean in gird region were studied on soybean cultivar JS 95–60 sown on 5 July 2011. Five insect pests namely white fly, green semilooper, tobacco caterpillar, blue beetle and girdle beetle were found infesting soybean crop. The activity of blue beetle and white fly were started at 14 DAS and remained up to first week of September with its peak population in first week of August at 35 DAS. Infestation of green semilooper and tobacco caterpillar were started from third week of July and second week of August, respectively. The infestation of girdle beetle was started from second week of August and continued till harvest.
