The chemical composition of the compound was revealed by active functional groups confirmed by FT-IR analysis. FT-IR spectra of solvents of chloroform and acetone extractsof brown seaweed (Turbinaria conoides) have been recorded in the region from 3399.83 to 717.05 cm−1 and 3441.41 to 671.61 cm−1 in the different frequency ranges, respectively. In hot water extraction limited number of active functional groups from the range of frequency from 3012.11 to 670.26 cm−1 appear. T. conoides having polysaccharides, fatty acids, amino acids, phenolic groups, etc., The results of the phytochemical screening carried out on the solvent and aqueous extracts of T. conoides showed the presence of useful chemical compositions. FT-IR analysis of seaweed biomass revealed the presence of amino, carboxyl, hydroxyl and carbonyl groups.
