The field experiment was conducted at Poman Nagar (Pimple), Tal. Purandar, Dist. Pune, Maharashtra, India. The effect of weather parameters on population development of fig jassids and mites was studied during December, 2009 to August, 2010. Weekly observations were recorded from randomly selected 10 plants from orchard for number of jassids and number of mites per leaf. Incidence of jassids was observed in orchard from the December, 2009 as population was observed steady and uniform. The lowest population was observed during 11th meteorological week, then it gradually increases up to the 32nd meteorological week in the month of Augustand after that it was decreased. Jassid population recorded maximum (45.4 per leaf) in the 32nd meteorological week, when maximum and minimum temperature, morning and evening relative humidity were 27.6°C and 21.46°C, 86.7 per cent and 69.57 per cent, respectively. Mite population also observed in the beginning of December, 2009 and in that month the population found decreasing and then it continuously increased up to the end of April and further decreases up to the August. Lowest population of mites was observed during 52nd meteorological week of 2009, when the maximum and minimum temperature, morning and evening relative humidity were 28.5°C and 11.7°C, 95.6 per cent and 36.4 per cent respectively. There after the population was increased and reaches it speak in the month of April. Peak population of mites recorded as 42.2 per leaf in the 17th meteorological week. Population of jassids was positively correlated with morning and evening relative humidity and negatively correlated with the maximum temperature and rainfall.
