Abstract

Farm mechanization helps in effective utilization of inputs to increase the productivity of land and labour. Agriculture sector is vital for the food and nutritional security of the nation. Mechanical weed control will facilitate easy and timeliness operation and also improve the soil aeration and water intake capacity. Three type of weeding blades power blade (L), speed blade (C) and inclined blade (I) were testedto analysis the performance through power consumption and weeding efficiency. Bite length, blade typesand interaction between both bite length and blade type was significantly influenced the power consumption (p<0.05). Bite length and blade types was significantly influenced the weeding efficiency (p<0.05). Interaction between both bite length and blade type was not significantly influenced the weeding efficiency.
