Baby corn is a short duration crop of about 2 months. approximately 5 to 6 crops can be taken in a year. It also acts as a contingentcrop atthe time of cropfailure. It is a unique cereal whose milky cob is used as a vegetable. baby corn is not only a cash crop but also a catch crop. Cost of production per acre is about Rs 9653. It is noted that there is zero expense on the plant protection chemicals. Net returns realized from sale of corn per acre is Rs 10669. Additional returns from fodder is to the tune of Rs 2019, Thus farming total return from crop is Rs 12688 per acre. Returns per Rupee of investment is 1.41.
