Abstract

Tobacco is one of the important commercial crops of India. The study was conducted in two major FCV tobacco growing regions namely Mysore and Hassan district. For Comparision of cost and returns of tobacco and other crops, 198 tobacco growers and 66 non-tobacco growers were selected. The results showed that tobacco had more net returns per acre and net returns per rupee of investment than other crops as ragi, paddy, maize, horsegram, cowpea, field bean.
