Abstract

Krishi Vigyan Kendra conducted demonstrations at different villages of Navsari district. A study on impact of FLD on SRI in Navsari district of Gujarat was conducted in the year 2012–13, 2013–14 and 2014–15 during kharif season. The average yield performance of SRI technology of 10, 36 and 35 demonstrations were obtained 8064, 8168 and 8278 kg/ha in an area of 2.5, 8.6 and 7.0 ha respectively. The per cent increase in demonstration yield over local cultivation practices was 58.6, 70.6 and 69.5 per cent during 2012–13, 2013–14 and 2014–15 respectively. The farmers have incurred higher average gross return of Rs. 103522/ha and benefit cost ratio of 3.11 through these demonstrations over local paddy cultivation practices. Results of the demonstration have shown that the SRI technology of paddy cultivation obtained higher productivity then the local practice.
