A trial experiment was conducted on SHIATS Agriculture farm during the year 2011–2012 to study the effect of rotor speed on mean weight diameter of soil aggregates and fuel consumption of vertical rotary axis harrow for straight blade at different depth and different rotor speed. The cutting depths were taken H1=80mm, H2=100 mm, H3=150 mmand rotor speed S1=150 r.p.m. S2=200 r.p.m., S3= 300 r.p.m., S4=300 r.p.m. it measured by tachometer. From the study it was observed that in the relationship between vertical axis rotary harrow speed and mean weight diameter of soil aggregates decrease linearly with increase the vertical axis rotary harrow. This indicates that a higher rotor speed of vertical axis rotary harrow is desirable for fine tilth. Similarly the relation between vertical axis rotary harrow speed and fuel consumption of tractor was linearly increase with increase rotor speed.
