Studies on pulses seed imbibition carried out with various seed to solution ratios of 1: 0.3, 1: 0.5 and 1: 1 with water up to a period of 1, 2 and 3 hours revealed that 1 h soaking with the seed to solution ratio of 1: 1 could be adopted for invigorating the seed through various hydration techniques as soaking for 1 hour resulted enhancement in germination and vigour index by 17, 24 and 21 percent in redgram, blackgram and greengram.
