Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of irrigation levels on yield and soil moisture depletion of mustard using CROPWAT model with five irrigation levels Anand Agricultural University, Anand in rabi season of the year 2011–12. The results revealed that seed, biomass, growth and yield attributes of mustard were significantly influenced due to different irrigation schedules. Treatment I4 (0.7 IW: CPE ratio) recorded significantly higher plant height, yield attributes and seed yield of mustard over the other treatments. It was concluded that for securing maximum seed yield of mustard cv. Gujarat Mustard-2 should be irrigated at 0.7 IW: CPE ratio (Five irrigation). Close relationship was observed between actual and simulated soil moisture depletion under irrigation criteria of irrigate at fixed interval by CROPWAT simulation studies.
