Seasonal Incidence of Bean Leaf Webworm Moth, Omiodes indicata Fab. (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) on French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris Linn.) in Cauvery Command Area, Karnataka

The incidence of the bean leaf webworm moth, Omiodes indicata (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), and its infestation on French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris Linn.) grown as sole crop of varying growth stages evaluated in field condition. It mainly infests during vegetative stage of the crop as a defoliator. The observation has been done week wise each throughout the season. Maximum incidence was recorded during 41^st and 42^nd MSW (Metrological Standard Week) of October, 2014. Significant positive relationship was exhibited between incidence of O. indicata and maximum temperature and rainfall. Whereas, positive correlation with the minimum temperature, maximum and minimum relative humidity and sunshine hours.
