Abstract

A highly efficient and reproducible in-vitro regeneration system is an absolute prerequisite for producing transgenic plants. Here we are providing a modified and efficient Agrobacterium mediated transformation protocol using wheat callus and immature embryo. Five genotypes EUGANDA, K0853, SONALIKA, VL 914, and PBW343 have been selected for transformation experiment due to their high regeneration and callogenesis potential. We successfully transformed plant in short period of time with less time of incubation. We found that size, age and type of callus affect the transformation efficiency.
