A field experiment was conducted at Main Agricultural Research Station, Raichur on black soil during rabi 2013–14 to study the effect of nutrient management practices through organics on growth, yield and economics of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) under rainfed condition. Application of beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + vermicompost + panchagavya (190.40 kg ha−1) recorded higher available nitrogen over rest of the treatment combinations except beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + vermicompost (189.36 kg ha−1), beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + vermicompost + cow urine (186.10 kg ha−1), beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + FYM + vermicompost + panchagavya (182.45 kg ha−1) and RDF (180.37 kg ha−1). Available phosphorus in soil was significantly higher with treatments supplemented with beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + FYM (61.54 kg ha−1), beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + FYM + vermicompost + cow urine (60.90 kg ha−1) and RDF (60.29 kg ha−1). Available potassium content of soil was significantly higher with the application of beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + vermicompost + panchagavya (485.38 kg ha−1) which was closely followed by beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + vermicompost (482.06 kg ha−1), beejamrutha + jeevamrutha + vermicompost + cow urine (480.38 kg ha−1) and RDF (476.37 kg ha−1) treatments. Significantly lower available nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were recorded in the treatments received with beejamrutha + jeevamrutha alone.
