A field trial was conducted during Kharif 2011 at Crop Research Center of G.B.P.U.A. & T., Pantnagar to evaluate the bio-efficacy of Bispyribac sodium 10% SC against weeds in rice nursery. The soil of the experimental field was clay loam in texture, medium in organic carbon (0.67%), available phosphorus (29.6 kg/ha) and potassium (176.4 kg/ha) with pH 7.2. The results revealed that Bispyribac sodium 10% SC @ 20 as well as 25 g/ha applied at 1–3 leaf stage was found effective for the control of E. colona, and E. indica, C. argentia and C. rotundus. The highest reduction in the dry matter accumulation of weeds was observed in weed free plots. Application of Bispyribac sodium 10% SC @ 25 g/ha, followed by its lower dose @ 20 g/ha (1–3 leaf stage) recorded significantly lowest dry matter accumulation of broad leaved weeds as compared to other herbicidal treatment.
