Onion is one of the most important vegetable crops cultivated in extensively throughout the country under a wide range of climatic conditions. This study focuses on the marketing efficiency of onion in Perambalur district of Tamil Nadu. Most of the farmers dispose off his produce in unprocessed form, there is no plough back of surpluses from value addition to the farmer. They expected that after meeting his consumption needs, they should able to get a reasonable return on the time and money invested by him. Today, the structure of agricultural markets involves a number of intermediaries which results in producers share in the consumer rupee is small. Producer Companies look to be one plausible solution. The total sample size of the farmers was 180 onion growers. Percentage analysis and garret ranking method was used for the analysis of the study. From this study most of the farmers were well educated and well experienced in onion cultivation. They are having own land with black soil which is suitable for cultivation of onion. Most of the farmers were unaware about the producer company. Hence, steps to be take to create awareness to the farmers about Producer Company through trainings, meetings and distribution of leaflets In future some farmers are willing to start Producer Company with any institutional support.
