Abstract

The study was undertaken during in the selected two taluks viz., Basavan Bagewadi and Navalgund of Bijapur and Dharwad districts respectively of Karnataka state. The results reveals that, 38.33 per cent of the respondents belongs to medium adoption category, while 31.25 per cent and 30.42 per cent of them belonged to low and high adoption categories, respectively. The variables such as education, land holding, achievement motivation and innovative proneness showed significant relationship at 0.01 level of probability. Whereas, farming experience, extension participation and scientific orientation exhibited significant relationship at 0.05 level of probability with the adoption level of onion farmers. ack of knowledge about seed/seed treatment was the main problem with the majority (37.08%) of the respondents and in case of seed cost, 28.75 per cent of them were facing problems at higher extent
