Abstract

An experiment was carried out in the floriculture complex, Department of Horticulture, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu under naturally ventilated green house to study the effect of various forms of urea and GA3 on leaf characteristics of chrysanthemum. The plants were subjectedto four forms of urea (liquid feeding, tarcoated urea, neemcake coated urea and prilled urea) and four levels of GA3 (water spray, GA3 50 ppm, GA3 75 ppm and GA3 100 ppm). Among the treatment combinations, plants supplied with neemcake coated urea and sprayed with GA3 100 ppm increasedleaf characters of chrysanthemum viz., maximum number of leaves on 60 DAP (98.3), 90 DAP (117.3) and 120 DAP (150.6), leaf area (7.60) on 120 DAP and chlorophyll content (1.186).
