Abstract

The field experiment on “Study of the Nutrient Uptake in Soybean (cv. Phule Kalyani) Influenced by Sulphur Levels in Inceptisol” was conducted during Kharif 2012 at College of Agriculture, Kolhapur Farm with a view to study the effect of levels of sulphur on nutrient uptake. The field experiment was carried out in Randomized Block Design with Four replications comprising of five levels of sulphur (0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 kg S ha−1) application through elemental sulphur having sulphur content 85 per cent. The nutrient uptake of soybean at critical growth stages increased significantly due to sulphur application through elemental sulphur. At harvesting stage, treatment T4 recorded highest N, P, K and S uptake (250.67, 15, 87.14 and 14.63 kg ha−1 respectively) over rest of the treatments. The results of the present investigation indicated that application of sulphur @ 60 kg ha−1 significantly increased nutrient uptake of soybean.
