Effect of Feed Supplement to Boost Milk Production in Lactating Cows

The present experimental study was conducted to determine the effect of mineral mixture, supplement in dairy animals to increase in milk yield. For this ten lactating cows were randomly selected and divided into two groups, one control and another experiment. In the experimental group, cow's feed was supplemented with 50gm mineral mixture/animal/day mixed in concentrate mixture for 90 days in 2 equally divided doses. The milk yield was recorded twice a day, during morning and evening after interval of 12 hours. Milk production in experimental group was sustained at a higher level due to feeding of mineral supplement which otherwise would have been decreased due to higher demand of minerals for milk secretion.
