An attempt was made to evaluate genotypic and phenotypic variation for yield components and oleic acid in the segregating population obtained by crossing low oleic with a high oleic genotype. High PCV and GCV estimates were obtained for pod yield per plant, kernel yield per plant and oil yield per plant. High heritability coupled with high GAM was recorded for five yield related traits and for both the fatty acids studied. Simple selection is sufficient for further improvement of these traits. Association of oil yield with its component traits was estimated and was found to be significant and positively correlated. Significant and negative correlation was observed for oleic with linoleic acid proved their antagonistic nature.
