Nitrogen mineralization of vermicompost prepared from weed biomass and fresh weed biomass at field capacity moisture regime was investigated in an incubation study. Rate of mineralization was significantly higher with vermicompost over fresh weed biomass incorporation. Net mineralization increased progressively with time and attained its peak at 45 days after incubation, thereafter a declining trend was observed. Net mineralization was also higher with vermicompost amended soil than fresh biomass. Net ammonification was highest after 45 days of incubation, while, net nitrification attained peak at 30 days after incubation.
