Sources of Information for Knowledge and Adoption of Dryland Technologies in Western Maharashtra

Abstract

The present study was conducted in two tahisils of Ahmednagar district viz. Karjat, Pathardi and two tahsils of solapur district viz. Karmala, Mohol. There were 288 farmers randomly selected from 16 villages for the study. The majority of dryland respondents were found to have very high (46.53 per cent), high (24.65 per cent) and medium (22.92 per cent) level of knowledge of dryland agricultural technologies. The sources of information through personal localite about dryland technologies majority of the respondents (49.65%) belonged to medium level of use of information sources while (47.58%) respondents belonged to very low level of use of information sources through personal cosmopolite. In case use of information sources through mass media, majority of the respondents (53.13%) belonged to low level about dryland technologies.
