Abstract

Stone in the urinary tract is one of the common condition associated with urinary system. Citrus medica, commonly known as a ‘Citron’ in English and ‘bijapura'in Ayurvedic literature is shrub. Citrus medica is known for its renoprotective activity. Study was done on 72 wistar rats. Renal damagewasinduced in rats using 0.75% (v/v) ethylene glycol along with drinking water as stone inducing agent. Histopathological examination will help in progression of condition will help in early detection and treatment. Histopathological examination revealed that Citrus medica possesses renoprotective activity. This study will help in understanding of histopathological lesions caused by ethylene glycol.
