Response of Different Dates of Sowing and Plant Geometry on Seed Yield, Quality and Economics of Vernonia (Vernonia anthelmintica L. Willd.)

An experiment was conducted during the rabi season of the year 2010–11 at Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Research Farm, A.A. U., Anand, Gujarat to evaluate seed yield, quality and economics of vernonia under different dates of sowing (D₁-1^st October, D₂-15^th October, D₃-30^th October and D₄-15^th November) and spacing (S₁-Broadcasting, S₂-30 cm between two row and S₃-45 cm between two row). The higher seed yield (1978 kg ha⁻¹) was obtained under date of sowing treatment D₃ (1^st October) with spacing S₃(45 cm between row) and also get higher net realization worth Rs. 128700 ha⁻¹ with BCR (1: 10.48).
