Abstract

A soilless pot culture study was conducted at College of Agriculture, Vellayani to standardize a soilless media and nutrient schedule for tomato cultivation. Various combinations of neopeat, coirpith and coirpith compost with FYM and potting mixture were the eight treatments with tomato variety Manulakshmi. The yield of tomato in soilless media composed of coirpith compost and Farm Yard Manure (2: 1) was found to be superior. The nutrient scheduling study showed that incubated groundnut cake + PGPR mix 1 at 125% of recommended dose of fertilizers was found to be the best nutrient schedule for soilless tomato cultivation in growbags.
