Downy mildew of mustard caused by Hyaloperonospora brassicae is a main reason for reducing the yield of rapeseed-mustard separately or in association of white rust caused by Albugo candida. So sowing of resistant varieties is the best method to manage the disease. For this, 72 rapeseed-mustard germplasm have been screened during 2011–12 to 2013–14 crop seasons. Out of 72 germplasm, all germplasm showed similar disease reaction during both the year after screening. Five germplasm viz. DLDC-1, EC-339000, DLSC-1, DRMR-100 and GSL-1 were free from disease reaction; EC-399301, EC-399296, EC-399313 were resistant, while DRMR-312, EC-399299 and DRMRJ-11-287 were moderately resistant. Disease free, resistant and moderately resistant germplasm may be used further for the development of high yielding varieties.
