Relative Toxicity of Selected Insecticides to Aphis gossypii Glover of Some Districts of Maharashtra

Abstract

The relative toxicity of selected insecticides to field population of Aphis gossypii Glover of Dhule district were methyl demeton, dimethoate and imidacloprid less toxic by 0.18, 0.19 and 0.47 fold, respectively than acetamiprid at LC50. At LC90these was less toxic by 0.08, 0.10 and 0.49 fold, respectively than acetamiprid in the same sequence. The relative toxicity of selected insecticides to Aphis gossypii Glover of Nandurbar district were methyl demeton, dimethoate and imidacloprid less toxic by 0.23, 0.28 and 0.48 fold, respectively than acetamiprid. At LC90 these were also less toxic by 0.073, 0.071 and 0.27 fold, respectively than acetamiprid but not in same sequence. In Dhule and Nandurbar districts, the insecticides in the ascending order of toxicity was methyl demeton < dimethoate < imidacloprid < acetamiprid at LC50. Similarly toxicity of selected insecticides to Aphis gossypii Glover of Jalgoan district were dimethoate, methyl demeton and imidacloprid less toxic by 0.18, 0.20 and 0.44 fold, respectively than acetamiprid at LC50. At LC90 methyl demeton, dimethoate and imidacloprid were less toxic by 0.07, 0.09 and 0.28 fold, respectively than acetamiprid. In Jalgoan districts, the insecticides in the ascending order of toxicity were dimethoate < methyl demeton < imidacloprid < acetamiprid at LC50.
