Constraints Faced by the Dairy Farmers in Adoption of No-Cost and Low-Cost Technologies of Animal Husbandry in Operational Area of DVK

The present study was carried out to analyse the constraints faced by the dairy farmers in adoption of no-cost and low-cost technologies of animal husbandry in operational area of DVK. A total of 140 respondents from 14 villages belonging to 7 talukas of panchmahals district were selected randomly. Here, majority of the respondents (1.79MS) stated their constraint as unavailability of separate place for isolation of sick animal, (1.61MS) as scarcity of land for fodder cultivation, (1.51MS) as unavailability of grazing pasture land while 1.37MS stated lack of knowledge about urea treatment as their constraints. Suggestions made by dairy farmer to overcome the constraints were loan and subsidy should be made for construction of scientific housing for milch animals and purchase of chaff cutter (88.57 per cent) and provide loan facilities at reduced rate and organized institutional support for purchase of high producing milch animal (82.14 per cent).
