Response of Vegetable Pea Genotypes Against Pea Stem Fly (Melanagromyza phaseoli Tryon) in North Bihar Conditions

Abstract

Ten cultivars of vegetable pea were screened for their comparative susceptibility to stem fly infestation under natural conditions at Tirhut College of Agriculture, Dholi (Muzaffarpur), Bihar. Results of this study clearly revealed that the plant mortality caused by stem fly varied significantly from 3.43 to 7.80%, with minimum and maximum being in Swarn Mukti and Azad, respectively having highest pod yield 25.00q/ha. was obtained with Swarn Mukti and lowest 15.20q/ha in Azad as against 6.93 percent plant mortality and 22.53q pod yield per hectare in check i.e., Harbhajan.
