This experiment was conducted at the Department of Biotechnology, Beehive College of Advance Studies, Dehradun to evaluate the antifungal activity of Azadirechta indica leaf extract against phytopathogenic fungi (Rhizoctonia solani). Three solvents for Azadirechta indica viz. acetone, water and petroleum ether were used on the basis of their polarity to evaluate the antifungal activity of phytochemical against phytopathogenic fungi. Azadirechta indica was found effective against R. solani in all the three solvents. Among the three solvents Acetone, petroleum ether, and water; Acetone showed maximum inhibitory effect and minimum inhibitory effect was found in water. Phytochemical screening of leaf extracts of Azadirechta indica in acetone was recorded tannins, Steroids and Terpenoids. Tannins, saponins, flavonoids, Phlobatanins, steroids and terpenoids were found in water extract while in petroleum ether extract flavonoids, Phlobatanins and alkaloids were recorded.
