Integrated Management of Cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) Blight Caused by Alternaria burnsii

Abstract

Field experiments were conducted during 2013–14 and 2014–15 to manage alternaria blight of cumin caused by Alternaria burnsii integrated with fungal, bacterial and fungicide (mancozeb). Looking to the mean of two seasons lowest disease intensity (19.07%) was recorded in the treatment of mancozeb 0.25% (five spray). This was followed by application of mancozeb 0.25% (three spray) + T. harzianum 0.2% (two spray) (21.90%) and mancozeb (three spray) + T. viride 0.2% (two spray) (24.10%). Highest mean seed yield 958 kg/ha was obtained in the treatment of mancozeb 0.25% (five spray) and remained significantly superior than all treatments. This was followed by 871 kg/ha in the treatment of mancozeb 0.25% (three spray) + T. harzianum 0.2% (two spray). Highest net return of Rs 46537/ha with 14.40 CBR was received in the sole treatment of mancozeb 0.25% (five spray) and was closely followed by three spray of mancozeb 0.25% + two spray of T. harzianum 0.2% having net return of Rs 40426/ha along with higher CBR (17.03).
