Abstract

The present investigation was conducted to study the effect of fym and biofertilizer on growth, yield and quality parameter of ashwagandha. (Withania somnifera.) An experiment was conducted during kharif to rabi season(2010) at Nagarjun Medicinal Plants Garden, Dr. PDKV. Akola (M.S). The experiment was laid out in Randomised Block Design with nine treatment and replicated three times. Treatments comprised of two levels of FYM (2.5 tonns and 5 tonnes ha−1) with different combinations of Azotobactor and PSB. Results revealed that the highest values of root length, root girth, dry root yield and maximum total alkaloid content were observed under treatment with application of FYM @ 5 t ha−1 + Azotobacter.
