Abstract

The objective of the present work is to produce biodiesel from high Free Fatty Acid (FFA) tree born madhuca (Madhuca indica) oil. The optimal conditions for pretreatment of madhuca oil were observed with molar ratio of 1: 6, acid concentration of 0.5% and reaction time of 1 h. The molar ratio of 1: 9, catalyst amount of 0.5% and reaction time of 2 h were found to be the optimum conditions for biodiesel production from pretreated madhuca oil.
