The experimentation on various soil groups of Saurashtra region constituting all the forms of nitrogen exhibited depletion over time in a long run. Although nitrogen is the most abundant element in the earth crust but it's availability requires suitable management at the earliest in the soils of Saurashtra region. The chemical fertilizers as well as organic practices appeared to supplement as well as trigger the utilization of nitrogen. Total N status ranged from 0.01 to 0.08 per cent predominant form of N was NH4-N, which constitution 1.34 per cent of total N followed by nitrate N. The percent samples in low, medium and high were 85, 15 and 0 in 1990 but in 2000 it changed to 99, 1 and 0 in there order respectively. In general, available nitrogen also influenced positive significant relationship with total nitrogen in soil group SBBT, SBSS, MMBR, DBBT and CS. The available N form was also significantly and positively related with organic carbon in soil group SBBT, SBLS, SBSS, MMBR, DBBT and RCD.
