Abstract

The experiment, “Effect of various plant growth promoting substances on seedling growth of acid lime” was carried out at Main Garden of Department of Horticulture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola during 2011–12. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with nine treatments and three replications. Seeds were treatment with PGR over night before sowing on nursery bed. Different concentrations of growth regulators like GA3-50, 100, 150, 200; NAA-10, 20, 30, 40 ppm were used as seed treatment to test the growth of seedlings. The growth of shoot parameters like germination percentage, fresh weight of plant, dry weight of plant, no of leaves per plant, leaf area index, final survival % of of nursery seedlings along with root characterslike tap root length, no of fibrous root per plant, fresh weight and dry weight of roots per plant were observed. Among these different treatments GA3@200 ppm was found significantly superior and high net monetary returns also obtained from treatment T4 (GA3 200 ppm seed treatment) with high benefit cost ratio.
