Abstract

Korba district was surveyed to know the present weed flora and invasion of any re-surging or alien weed species in the region. 4 blocks and 148 villages during kharif and 4 blocks and 180 villages during rabi seasons were covered during 2009–10 in Korba district. Cyperus rotundus and Cyperus iria in rice registered highest Importance Value Index (IVI) during kharif and rabi seasons respectively. However, in non-cropped area, Gomphrina celosides during kharif and Cynodon dactylon during rabi registered highest IVI.
