The experiment was conducted to identify the best parents and hybrids for gca and sca effects in Indian mustard by using diallel analysis without reciprocals involving ten parents. The study revealed the importance of non-additive gene effects, reflected by high value of sca variance than gca variance for all the characters. Parents GM1 and PUSA BOLD were found good general combiners for seed yield and its related attributes. Three cross combinations namely, GM1 X BIO902, GM3 x GDM4 and PUSA BOLD X PCR7 were observed to be promising as these hybrids possessed significant and positive sca effects for seed yield and its related component quantitative traits.
