Pathogenic Variability among Alternaria brassicae Isolates Infecting Brassica sp.

Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken to determine pathogenic variability among nine isolates of Alternaria brassicae (Berk.) Sacc., six AUA-19, AUA-33, AUP-29, AUA-45, AUA-24, AUA-22 from Brassica juncea, two AUP-37, AUA-35 from B. rapa and one AUA-38 from E sativa. on the basis of disease severity. Results revealed that disease severity significantly affected by virulence of isolate. Isolate AUA-19 and AUA-38 showed maximum disease severity (32.89). Therefore, it indicated that AUA-19 and AUA-38 isolates were highly pathogenic and rest isolates were least pathogenic.
