Abstract

The laboratory study was carried out at college of Agriculture, Dhule (M.P.K.V., Rahuri) during 2012–13. The fungus isolated from the, disease sample collected from the farmer's field of Dhule district and AICVRP at MPKV Rahuri. The fungus identified as Alternaria chlamydospora and the morphological and cultural studies of the fungus were carried out. In morphological characteristics the mycelia growth, conidiophores, conidia and chlamydospores were studied. For cultural study, eight different media used. Among the different media used, on host leaf extract (Okra) maximum mycelium growth (8.8 cm) and maximum sporulation (0.46 × 104 conidia cm2) were recorded. It was followed by Potato dextrose agar 8.5 cm and 0.44 × 104 conidia cm2 growth and sporulation respectively.
