Study of Water Use Efficiency and Mulching on Ecconomics in Sweat Corns

An experiment entitled “Effect of irrigation scheduling and mulching on summer sweet corn” was conducted during summer 2014 at PG, Research Farm, Agronomy Section, College of Agriculture., Dhule. During present investigation it has been observed that the numerically higher values of water use efficiency with respect to irrigation scheduling was recorded in treatment i.e. as per critical growth stages. Numerically higher value of water use efficiency was recorded in treatment i.e. with mulch. Whereas, itwas minimumin the treatments IW/CPE ratio 1.0 and without mulch. Significantly higher values of gross, net monetary returns and B: C ratio (3.26) by the irrigation scheduling was recorded in the treatment IW/CPE ratio 1.0 as compared to other treatments. With respect to mulching studies, the significantly maximum gross, net monetary returns and benefit cost ratio were found in the treatment with mulch as compared to without mulch. The interaction effect between irrigation scheduling and mulching found to be non significant.
