Impact of Different Transplanting Periods on the Incidence of Aphid, Uroleucon compositae Theobald in Gaillardia

Abstract

To see the activity of aphid, Uroleucon compositae Theobald, gaillardia crop transplanted during 3rd week of October, 1st week of November, 3rd week of November, 1st week of December, 3rd week of December and 1st week of January during 2013–14 and 2014–15. The activity of aphid was significantly the lowest (28.23 aphids/10 cm terminal twig) in the crop transplanted during 1st week of January in both the years. Significantly the highest activity (85.99) of aphid was recorded in the crop transplanted during 1st week of November followed by 3rd week of November (71.24). There was significant impact of various abiotic factors on the activity of the pest.
