An attempt has been made in this study to analyze the performance of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. The present study was conducted in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. Mahasamund district has five blocks out of these five blocks Saraipali block was selected purposively for study. In Saraipali block four villages was selected purposively and 10 farmers each comprising of KCC users was selected to form a total sample size of 80 respondents. Respondents were further categorized intomarginal, small, medium and large farmers based on holding size. The secondary data is collected from the various concerned organization working for the of KCC scheme in year 2010–11. The average cost for amount borrowed is 4.83 per cent which varies from 6.41, 4.44, 4.33, and 4.15 per cent at marginal, small, medium and large farms respectively in KCC while average cost in Non-KCC is 15.10 per cent which varies from 19.04, 14.65, 14.12 and 12.59 at marginal, small, medium and large farms respectively. The cost for taking credit in KCC farms is 68.01 per cent less than non-KCC farms. Major constraints according to KCC group are complex documentation and area approach for KCC scheme. Same as Non-KCC group constraints are complex documentation and lack of having financial institution at near to their village.
