Despite the immense benefits, chemical pesticides are used in increasing quantities designed to kill living organisms. But the very properties that give these chemicals useful-long residual action and high toxicity for a wide spectrum of organisms, have given rise to serious environmental problems. But, the use of these chemical pesticides and other agro chemicals are getting reduced/being banned globally because of their toxic effects on human beings and his live stock, residual toxicity, environmental problems, pest outbreaks and drastic effects on beneficial insects. The different biotechnological approaches for better plant health management includes, use of botanical pesticides, use of microbial pesticides, augmentative Biocontrol by Inundative Releases, pheromones and attractants in pests management, Plant Incorporated Protectants (PIPs)/GM crops. Nanotechnological approaches for plant health management includes early detection and diagnosis of plant diseases, use of nanoparticle for management of plant diseases, use of biosensors and many more. This article deals with the some achievement on better plant health management by some biocontrol agents and nanoparticle.
