Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the correlation between seed yield and yield component traits in sunflower along with oil yield. Oil yield exhibited significant positive correlation with plant height, head diameter, 100- seed weight, oil content, oleic acid content and seed yield per plant. Seed yield showed positive and significant correlation with plant height, head diameter, 100- seed weight, oil content and oleic acid content. This shows that selection based on plant height, head diameter, 100-seed weight, oil content and oleic acid content will be more effective in improvement of both oil yield and seed yield.
