Abstract

The study was conducted on the small and marginal paddy farmers of Tamil Nadu. A sample size of 200 paddy farmers was selected from the districts of Erode and Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The small and marginal paddy farmer households studied have a high awareness of changes in rainfall and temperature and measures have taken to cope with effects of a changing climate. Findings revealedthat majority of the farmers were constraints like land constraints, climate change constraints, constraints on farm inputs, constraints on irrigation, credit constraints, labour constraints and technology constraints. Suggestions were encountered from the farmers to mitigate or ill effect of climate change.
