Field experiments were conducted in KVK farm, Hadonahalli to examine the resistance of tomato cultivars against whitefly, B. tabaci. Among the tomato cultivars most preferred tomato cultivars for oviposition activity of B. tabaci were Pusa ruby, PKM- 1 and Arka vikas. Whereas, Nandi, Sankranthi, and Vybhav were least preferred cultivars. Vybhav and Nandi cultivars were relatively resistant to B. tabaci. These cultivars had high density glandular trichome secretions, thus effective in reducing B. tabaci population. Probably this may the factor for low preference.
