Abstract

The present study was aimed toexamineadoption of recommended fruit production practices in Haryana. Therefore, the experiment was conducted in Sirsa district of Haryana state. This district has higher number of kinnow and guava growers and the maximum area under kinnow and guava production. In the present study, an effort was made to ascertain the level of adoption of kinnow and guava growers on the farm practices recommended. High level of adoption on fruit varieties/improved cultivars (100.00 per cent) indicates that all the kinnow growers included in the study adopted the variety. The recommendation on transplantation through vegetative propagation, layout of field, training and pruning, application of manures and fertilizers, drip irrigation method and harvest practices also had high level of adoption. On the other hand when the overall adoption of guava growers was calculated, half of the farmers were found to be having medium level of adoption and the remaining half of the respondents were lying in the high and low category into the approximate ratio of 2:1, respectively.
