Bioefficacy of emamectin benzoate 5% wg against blue butterfly, Lampids boeiticus of pigeonpea

Abstract

The emamectin benzoate 5 WG@9.4ga.i. per ha was found to be the most effective treatment against blue butterfly, Lampids boeiticus. The efficacy of emamectin benzoate 5% WG@9.4ga.i. per ha was reflected in lowest larval population and per cent pod damage (2.46%) to be found. The efficacy of emamectin benzoate 5% WG@9.4ga.i. per ha was reflected in grain yield (876 kg/ha) of red gram which was highest among all treatments. However, its lower doses viz., 6.9 and 8.1ga.i. per ha were next effective treatments as grain yield concerned along with ethion 50EC@500ga.i. per ha. All the treatments were significantly superior over untreated control.
