Abstract

The isolated fungus Colletotrichum capsici was found pathogenic and responsible for anthracnose in chilli. Different fungicides, bioagent and botanical were evaluated (in vitro). All the fungicides were found significantly superior for arresting mycelial growth of Colletotrichum capsici. Maximum radial mycelial growth inhibition (85.18%) of Colletotrichum capsici was recorded in Hexaconazole. However, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Karanj leaf extract comparatively least effective in restricting the radial mycelial growth of Colletotrichum capsici. Nine foliar spray treatments were evaluated to manage anthracnose incidence and disease intensity (in vivo). Minimum per cent disease incidence and per cent disease intensity was found in Hexaconazole @ (0.1%). However, sprays of Pseudomonas fluorescens (0.4%) and Karanj leaf extract (10%) were least effective in reduction of disease incidence of Colletotrichum capsici under natural field condition.
